Is it time to call a Handyman yet or is it something you could do yourself?  Maybe you want to revamp your home but unsure the look to go for or if the colour you have chosen will actually look nice in your home.  We thought we would share a list of your favourite go-to apps to help you make more informed decisions about your next DIY steps.

Have you ever brought a paint pot tester (or twelve) and made what resembles Elma the Elephant on your wall and still been unsure which to pick? You then finally decide, get it on the walls and realise its too dark and makes the room look smaller and cramped.  Have you tried the Dulux Visualizer App?  You can select which colour you like from the Dulux colour charts and by taking a picture of your room you can see what it will look like using the natural light in your space.  This app is fantastic for eliminating the disappointment, time and money of choosing the wrong paint colour.

iFixIt is an excellent DIY- oriented app that includes repairs and teardown guides for numerous categories of devices, cars and trucks to smartphones, tablets and common household appliances and furniture.  This app is amazing if your home appliances are playing up and you need help.  Obviously if you don’t feel over confident, then please call in the experts but if you are confident enough this is perfect for you. If you don’t have the tools you need, the app helpfully includes links to iFixIt’s own online store.

YouTube is a mine of free, informative information that can guide you through most DIY tasks that may need carrying out in and around your home.  Whether it’s a leaking tap or hanging wallpaper there’s a ‘how-to’ video for just about

If you are after a free plan-drawing app, the Magic Plan is a really good option.  Using the camera on your device, you can mark out the corners to draw out a room visually- which can be particularly useful for mapping out just a particular area of an open-plan space. It’s been made by the people behind Floorplanner, and the two can work together to make really detailed plans of your home that include furnishings and decorative features.

Do you still need to call your local trusted Handyman?

So, you’ve tried the Apps and you have a better idea on what your desired look is and you have a pretty sound knowledge on how to get the job done but there’s something still holding you back, confidence.  If this is the case and you want to call in the professionals to get the job done, no problem, you’re in the right place.  The Team at 2busy2diy.co.uk are always on hand so why not give us a call today and let us get to work!
